The act of believing!

It is so important that you BELIEVE in whatever you do; else the energy doesn’t start flowing. As an example, we were vacationing in Virginia Beach over the Labor Day. The Saturday was pretty much the entire day at the beach. On Sunday, we had decided to visit the beach again before we started heading home. So we started off to the beach at about 9:30 AM. We stopped to fill air to the vehicle and at a local McDonald’s. The line was too big, so we quit and headed to the beach. Once there, it was the day of the Virginia Beach annual Marathon and every parking lot was full. We thought we will head towards the south side and may find some space, but all left turns were blocked and we had to drive almost 5-6 miles south away from the beach. At last, we decided to go back for one more time and we spotted a McDonald’s again and thought we will get some breakfast. It happened so that it was close to 11:30 AM then and the Manager decided to change the menu for lunch after we ordered. In the ensuing confusions, our and others’ orders got delayed almost 45 minutes. In the meantime, Vikas was getting frustrated and so was I. Rama suggested to just drive to the 3rd Street municipal parking lot. Once we got there we saw the ‘Lot full’ sign. She wanted to drive a little more. I was eager to get away and keep my cool. Then I realized, all the time I wasn’t wishing for a parking space. I knew I would never find any and we would be heading back. That thought made me positive in an instant. At the same time, Rama pointed out on the other side of the road, someone ready to pull out of their street side parking space. She jokingly said, ‘I don’t care what you do, but you have to get that spot’. I made a U-turn (legal) and finally got in. It somehow clicked in me (though I had read so much about wishing-it-to-happen) that I have to hope sincerely for things to happen or turn out my way first before attempting anything. Hope this lesson sticks forever in me.
