Do you keep facing the same embarrassing situation again and again? One reason could be that you haven’t figured out how to deal with the situation. This involves learning – noting down what went right or wrong; reinforcing the message, and coming up with a plan to deal with it next time.
For example, do you feel embarrassed when you are in public or amongst people. Think what makes you uncomfortable. It could be you are feeling judged. Think about it. Why would most people want to spend their time judging others? They would rather want to meet you and make you feel comfortable. It is just that in such a bigger gathering, they cannot.
One thing you can do is to stay focused on the bigger picture here. The moment you let go of focusing on yourself, you start to think about what’s going on. Take a few deep breaths. See if you can see any one’s point. Start speaking. Also, make sure you are breathing right. Many times, when you are not breathing it adds to the tension. If nothing else works out, take a break – step out or find something else to do. For you don’t want the negativity to linger. Thinking two positive thoughts for every negative thought helps.
