Tooks hundreds of pictures over the past few days and deleted hundreds of them. It has been fun to use the Rebel; the pictures are extremely good. I started saving pictures in RAW format where there is no compression. When you view pictures in RAW, remember the size is HUGE, in my case it is 10MB. Thus to fit it onto my laptop screen, the viewer will do some kind of compression and first I didn’t realize this. I ended up seeing pictures not so sharp. Then I read on Ken’s site that I need to view at 100%. At this size, the pictures are great! I am still using kit lens but always use the tripod. Ken is not big on tripod, but I think it helps as Scott Kelby says. To take sharp pictures, use two stops down from what the P-mode says – another tip I picked up on Ken (Ken Rockwell)’s site. The picture here are taken on a foggy morning and again in the evening. The evening pictures were exposed about 10 secs or so and I fill in light in Picasa (UPDATE: Took this pic away for any privacy issues). I still don’t have the filters so I have to edit the evening pictures. Can’t wait to go somewhere and shoot.
