I don’t know if you saw the movie ‘The Exotic Marigold Hotel’. The lead male character keeps saying ‘Everything will be alright in the end and if it isn’t alright, then it isn’t yet the end’. That’s the way to look at things. All things might not go as you dreamed or thought about. But take whatever life throws at you happily and everything will be alright in the end. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t get that dream job or your child didn’t get admitted to that dream school. But as I look back at my life, there have been many opportunities that didn’t go my way. However, at this stage in life, I don’t feel I missed anything as long as I can stay happy. Think about it – there are many people on this planet who don’t have basic needs and we shouldn’t be worrying about not getting that job in that fancy Wall street firm or that elite college. Not that, you shouldn’t dream or feel like a loser. I am fairly certain even those who make it on one or more dreams will have disappointments. Disappointments are a way of life, be it the President or that Rhodes scholar. What matters is you find your own formula to stay happy. Weed out the delusion that you want to and can get everything you think about. Instead think about staying happy and doing all you can in this one life. God will give you more than you every dreamed of.
