Just look around. Look at all what you have. As I look around most of my friends from High School and onwards that I still maintain contact are all well off or even better. The same is true of other friends that I have come to know of in the US. There is no doubt about it. I am sure at some point, if you are one of such people, you would have thanked God for what He has given. You would have started even giving back whatever you can. If not, it is time to think about giving. Are you doing some sort of donation – either monetary or physical – to make a difference? Are you doing that going above and beyond? Or are you walloped by all this personal – responsibilities to family and yourself consuming all your time? It isn’t that difficult to find time to give. Writing a check is of course the least time consuming effort. Consider also getting together with other people and giving – such as charity participation or volunteering. At the end of the day, if you feel you did make a difference, you are blessed. Thank God again for that opportunity He provided. Never take it for granted that you are where you are because of not only what you did, but due to help for others who were far worse off than you are currently. Keep reminding yourself that there are other people less fortunate than yourself. Keep reminding yourself of the core of being good – humility. Be humble about what you are doing and continue doing the good. Keep checking with people you know how you can help. Just don’t get walloped in your own work. Remember it feels great to be appreciated. It feels even greater to appreciate. Appreciating is giving too. Keep giving – the more you give, the more you receive. God bless you.
